Warehouse Associate / Material Handler (Heavy Lifting)
M-F 1st shift 6am-2:30 pm
Weekend Sat-Tues 7am-5:30pm
Job Summary
This position seeks a reliable and physically capable individual to join the team as a Warehouse Associate / Material Handler. The role involves safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials. The ability to repeatedly lift and handle objects weighing up to 55 pounds is required. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team and committed to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming materials, including physical lifting, movement by hand, and using material handling equipment.
- Accurately place and properly stack stock for storage in designated areas, ensuring proper handling and stacking to prevent damage.
- Fulfill orders by locating, transporting, and preparing outbound products for shipment or distribution.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and potentially other machinery, following all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Perform inventory cycle counts and other inventory management tasks as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, complying with all safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Report any issues, discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 55 lbs for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, balance, reach overhead, crawl, pull, and push for extended periods of time.
- Physical stamina and strength to tolerate heavy lifting and standing for extended periods of time.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory logs and databases, if required.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
- 3-5 yrs Forklift experience
Working Conditions
- Warehouse environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures, potentially including hot, cold, and wet environments.
