HVAC Technician – First Shift

Location: Salina, KS
Starting Pay: $31.50 /hour
Shift: Days / 1st shift

We are hiring an experienced HVAC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial air-conditioning equipment and multi-zone heating and cooling systems to ensure they are working efficiently, properly and affordably in a manufacturing / production setting. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company's payroll and be eligible for their benefits package.  

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems and related equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs
  • Troubleshoot and fix electrical and mechanical HVAC issues
  • Adjust system controls and test system performance
  • Conserve and recycle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations
  • Check for gas, carbon monoxide, and fluid leaks
  • Maintain documentation and complete required paperwork
  • Follow safety protocols and hazardous waste management procedures

Requirements:
  • Trade school certification in HVAC
  • Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate
  • OSHA-10 Certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license with a clean record
  • Proficiency with:
    • Reading blueprints and electrical drawings
    • Diagnosing and repairing chillers, RTUs, heat pumps, AHUs, cooling towers, boilers, VAV boxes, VFDs, and more
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and wear PPE
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and be on call
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
