Human Resources Leader
Location:
Sterling, IL
Pay: $90,000 - $110,000/yearly, direct hire, plus 10% variable compensation
Job Description:
This position provides support to the organization’s business leaders to enable continued business success and growth, to ensure the business has aligned talent and development programs, and to assist in creating strategic plans for the location and the business as a whole.
Job Duties:
- Manage the full cycle recruitment process for exempt, non-exempt, and shop floor positions, ensuring timely and effective staffing of high-caliber candidates. Utilize diverse recruitment.
- Partner with Operations Management to develop and implement strategic plans that align with and support revenue and operational targets.
- Provide expert employee relations support to managers, supervisors, and employees, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling of complaints, discipline, performance management, and corrective actions.
- Conduct through and impartial investigations in response to employee allegations or management inquiries.
- Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and HR team members to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient HR services.
- Administer and maintain all activities related to payroll and employee benefits programs. Develop, implement, and manage programs to ensure cost-effectiveness, market competitiveness, and internal equity among employees.
- Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations affecting human resource management, utilizing labor counsel as needed.
- Assist in developing, revising, implementing, and communicating company policies, procedures, and administrative practices.
- Resolve employee issues and workplace disputes. Refer all relevant matters to legal counsel for review and advice.
- Supports the HR Manager with corporate and divisional reporting, workforce analysis, Affirmative Action development and planning, compensation & benefit analysis, and ad-hoc reporting for management.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing environment through a regular presence on the shop floor and interaction with supported manufacturing areas.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the HR team Business Unit Manager, Operations Manager, Supervisors, and management team.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
- Demonstrated experience in a broad range of HR functions, such as recruiting, benefits, compensation, payroll, training, performance management and employee relations.
- Minimum 3 years HR generalist experience
- Thorough knowledge of State of Illinois labor regulations and laws
- Knowledge of legal issues across all HR functions
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required: Prior experience working in a matrix organization supporting operations management and HR management
- Preference given to those with: BS Human Resources, SHRM certification, Bi-Lingual, UKG, ADP, Workday, SAP
