ASSEMBLERS
1ST SHIFT
WAGE: $15.50/HOUR
LOCATION: FREEPORT, IL
 
Position Summary:
Position is responsible for the handling, packing and assembly of components for material handling.
Essential Functions
  • Pack Components to accepted standards utilizing various tools.
  • Hang on and take off paint line components as directed by lead.
  • Combine and build items per BOM and other instructions.
  • Read and Interpret technical drawings.
  • Perform final inspection quality checks.
  • Stack painted product for material handling.
  • Safely operate tools and hand trucks.
  • Perform 5S housekeeping tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of material consumption.
  • Identify and place proper paint hooks with required spacing for various products
  • Conduct final product assembly
  • Conduct final product quality inspection
  • Scan routers into business software.
  • Package products for shipment
  • Document material used per router.
  • Perform additional duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor of this position.
 
 
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  1. Ability to determine product that does not meet quality standards 
  2. Product knowledge and the ability to determine a quality paint job
  3. An understanding of product labeling
  4. Strong attention to detail
  5. Promote safe work environment
  6. Excellent communication skills
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiently operates various hand tools
  • Learn paint color and quality standards 
  • Learn proper touch up and packaging techniques
  • After provided training on the business software, attain a proficiency level necessary to perform the functions of the position.
  • Read tape measure and Interpret technical drawings
  • Use proper lifting techniques/able to lift up-to 50 lbs.
  • Attain basic product line knowledge.
  • Adherence to all safety requirements required within this work area.
  • Able to work with a team and independently
  • Have basic mathematical knowledge.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks while dealing with multiple interruptions
 
Minimum Required Experience or Education:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a related industry in a manufacturing environment
