Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide prompt assistance to members and providers regarding benefits, claims, and general inquiries.
- Explain benefit plans and coverage details clearly to members and providers.
- Assist members in resolving claim-related issues with professionalism and accuracy.
- Greet and assist walk-in members, addressing their questions or concerns effectively.
- Perform data entry for open enrollment, new enrollments, and updates to member information.
- Coordinate and process monthly Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) activities.
- Manage wellness and reimbursement programs on a bi-annual basis.
- Process COBRA terminations in compliance with regulations.
- Prepare materials and documentation for quarterly board meetings.
- Handle daily deposits and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
- Organize and alphabetize claims for efficient processing.
- Process short-term disability claims in accordance with internal policies .
Requirements:
- Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel, and Access.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and empathetic communication style
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Experience in medical billing and/or claims processing preferred
