Job Summary for Purchasing Agent: Will support the day to day functions of the company by performing tasks related to purchasing, receiving and inventory management. This position values value and risk within the supply base.
Responsibilities for Purchasing Agent:
Requirements for Purchasing Agent: • Ordering standard production materials, keeping lead times, pricing and production forecast in mind when doing so.
• Receive materials delivered into the ERP system.
• Contacting suppliers when issues arise with invoicing, packing slips or damaged goods.
• Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies.
• Regularly perform detailed analysis for purchased items (price trending data)
• Inventory cycle counting of elements, pipe, flanges, paint, steel coils, etc. and reconciling any discrepancies within the ERP system.
• Maintaining scrap logs and keeping SDS books updated and in compliance.
• Tracking Lumber Heat Treat Export Program and in compliance.
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items, obtaining necessary approvals.
• Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers, monitoring and expediting orders.
Qualifications for Purchasing Agent:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong follow up and excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, a positive attitude.
• Ability to adhere to timelines
• Problem solving and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb and utilize complex information.
