Compens ation:
$19/hr
 
  Responsibilities:
Laser Operator has the following responsibilities and duties:
  • Set up and operate computer-controlled laser cutter to perform one or more machine functions on metal workpieces
  • Review program specifications or blueprints to set machine operations and sequencing, finished workpiece dimensions, or numerical control sequences
  • Feed raw materials and safely remove finished product
  • Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products and maintain activity logs
Requirements:
Laser Operator should have the following skills, education, and experience:
  • Working knowledge of and actual experience working with laser cutting machines
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Experience using laser cutting computer programs, including nesting
  • Abilities: Standing, bending, some heavy lifting and able to work long hours of repetitive work
  • Quality conscious, accurate and detail oriented
  • Able to diligently follow safety protocol and utilize required PPE, including cut resistant gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
  • Must be able to understand and complete departmental paperwork
  • Must be able to be trained in the proper use of other assembly line equipment including (but not limited to) forklifts, overhead hoists, and pallet jacks.
