Plant Worker/Presser

Job Overview

TheProduction and Presser is responsible for efficiently and effectively processing garments, ensuring that each item meets high-quality standards before it is returned to the customer. This includes handling a variety of fabrics, using specialized equipment, and ensuring proper garment care techniques are followed to achieve the best results.

Key Responsibilities

• Garment Pressing:

  • Operate pressing equipment to remove wrinkles from clothing and fabrics.

  • Ensure garments are pressed to meet company and customer standards for quality.

  • Perform touch-ups on items requiring special attention.

• Dry Cleaning Operations:

  • Assist in loading and unloading garments from dry cleaning machines.

  • Follow proper procedures for garment inspection, stain removal, and dry cleaning.

  • Sort clothing by fabric type, color, and care instructions to ensure proper treatment.

• Quality Control:

  • Inspect garments for any stains, damage, or defects before and after cleaning.

  • Ensure each garment is properly cleaned, pressed, and folded or hung according to company standards.

  • Report any issues, including damaged garments, to the supervisor for resolution.

• Equipment Maintenance:

  • Ensure that all dry cleaning and pressing equipment is maintained, cleaned, and operated safely.

  • Follow safety guidelines and take precautions to prevent accidents or damage to equipment.

• Customer Service:

  • Occasionally assist customers with garment pickup and special requests.

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction with the quality of the work.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other team members in the production area to ensure a smooth workflow.

  • Communicate any issues or delays to the supervisor in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dry cleaning or laundry facility is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of garment care, fabric types, and proper cleaning methods is a plus.

• Ability to operate pressing machines, dry cleaning equipment, and other tools.

• Attention to detail and a focus on quality.

• Good physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift during shifts.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Lift, carry, and move items up to 35 pounds.

• Ability to operate pressing and dry cleaning machines safely.
