Sedona Staffing is seeking
Referral Specialist
for our client in Moline, IL.
As the referral specialist you are responsible for interacting and providing guests with
great service, including responding to questions providing information, and serving as a liaison for our client.
Responsibilities
include but
are
not limited to:
- Receive, screen and coordinate telephone calls from healthcare providers
- Receive incoming correspondence and review/forward to appropriate staff
- Daily data entry of medical appointments, special instructions, patient information and pre/post procedure instructions
- Perform a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to answering phones, faxing and filing of confidential documents and basic internet and email utilization
- Verify patient information by interviewing the patient, documenting medications and the purpose of the visit into the practice EMR
- Educate patients regarding conditions, procedures, preps and medications per provider orders
- Counsels patients by transmitting provider orders and answers questions relating to ordered procedures
- Obtains and enters all pertinent paperwork to register patients in a timely manner
- Maintains updated schedules in the EMR system
- Schedule all procedures ordered in an accurate and efficient manner
- Answering and/or appropriately routing all calls, voicemails and address telephone encounters daily
- Maintain excellent customer service skills and a high level of professionalism on all calls
- Ability to minimize customer call wait times in an efficient manner according to practice guidelines
- Obtain and enter accurate information from either the patient or referring provider office into the practice EMR
- Mail all pertinent paperwork to patients daily. Give directions to patients on how to obtain required information prior to appointments
- Knowledge of basic functions and operations of all areas of the practice to ensure accurate information is provided to the caller
- Keep all appointment wait lists, bump lists and referrals at a current status
- Maintain consistent and positive communication with all patients and staff regarding provider schedules and other questions
- Promptly answer phones with a smile, and communicate with patients in a courteous manner, using recommended verbiage to take messages and make appointments
- Be present, engaged and ready to work at all assigned shift times
- Make return appointment for the patient if needed
- Complete checklists as assigned and participate in department huddles to ensure that every single day flows smoothly
- Able to communicate relevant information to direct supervisor
- Able to adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Demonstrate and influence a culture of good teamwork to deliver an extraordinary experience for every patient
- Provide exceptional customer service by making the patient the #1 priority
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
Qualifi
cations and Requirements:
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Associate Degree and/or certificate program preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred

- B asic Knowledge of Medical Terminology (ICD-10/CPT)
