Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000 based on experience
Job Summary for: The Maintenance Leader drives the continuous, efficient, and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Leader will lead and coordinate the maintenance department, implementing proactive improvements and optimizing our physical plant, production equipment, and related systems. This role involves overseeing the team's daily work, providing expert guidance, strategically assigning projects, and rigorously upholding safety and quality standards. As the primary point of contact for building and equipment issues, this person is available for emergency response and acts as the emergency coordinator with external services. This position requires hands-on expertise in complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician:
Strategic Leadership & Management:
• Collaborate strategically with manufacturing managers and leadership to prioritize maintenance,
tooling, and engineering initiatives aligned with operational goals.
• Partner closely with supervisors and leadership to develop and continuously improve departmental
programs and responsibilities.
• Actively participates in management meetings, contributing technical insights and collaborating with
other department heads.
• Develop, manage, and adhere to the departmental budget, ensuring responsible resource allocation
and collaborating with the Controller on capital equipment purchases.
Maintenance Operations & Oversight:
• Lead and manage a team of direct reports and on-site facility & maintenance contractors.
• Supervise all maintenance operations to ensure that work is accurate, safe, and meets quality
standards, thereby minimizing downtime.
• Direct the repair and maintenance of plant equipment, machines, buildings, and grounds, managing
the work order system.
• Oversee daily workflow, ensuring efficient task completion, resource allocation, and timely
operational response.
• Coordinate all plant maintenance activities, including shutdown procedures and task list
development.
• Provide clear, prioritized work schedules for testing, proactive maintenance, and efficient repairs.
• Establish and maintain inventory of replacement parts, overseeing procurement.
• Coordinate external contractors and vendors, ensuring safety training and proper documentation.
• Serve as primary contact for building/equipment issues and act as an emergency coordinator.
• Perform necessary facility maintenance to ensure a safe and functional environment.
Safety & Compliance:
• Champion a proactive safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with all health and safety laws,
including EPA and OSHA.
• Verify equipment and processes meet requirements and initiate safety reviews for new processes.
• Maintain a clean and debris-free work area (following the 5S theory).
• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Maintain First Aid Certification.
General & Administrative:
• Accurately input and manage maintenance data in CMMS and other software.
• Communicate effectively and support company policies positively and professionally.
• Perform other related duties assigned to ensure overall efficiency and reliability.
Education/ Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related) OR equivalent experience in a manufacturing engineering field with a strong technical foundation. • OR a Two-Year technical degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical Technology) AND 5+ years of demonstrable expert-level experience as a complex Electrical-Mechanical technician in manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible expert-level job-related experience in a demanding manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of demonstrable experience in a supervisory or leadership role managing skilled maintenance or engineering teams.
