Assistant Store Manager
Location: Black River Falls, WI
Pay: $50,000/year
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire


We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations, support a strong customer service environment, develop employees, and help drive sales and profitability. This is a direct hire opportunity. Meaning the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company's payroll and be eligible for their benefits package. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations and staff supervision
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to customers and associates
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members
  • Help maintain store appearance, merchandising, inventory, and organization
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, hiring, and employee performance
  • Open and close the store as needed
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and bank deposits
  • Help ensure store policies, safety standards, and operational procedures are followed
  • Assist with sales promotions, advertising, and merchandising displays
  • Resolve customer and employee issues professionally
  • Perform associate-level duties as needed, including cashiering, load outs, and forklift operation
  • Build positive relationships within the local community
  • Support the Store Manager with overall store performance and profitability
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of retail or management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and make sound decisions
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and other required shifts
  • Knowledge of construction, maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or equipment operation is helpful but not required
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs., with occasional lifting over 50 lbs. The role may involve working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
