Material Handler

• Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing materials such as steel and aluminum.
• Labeling every product and placing them accordingly.
• Sorting, organizing, and keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory.
• Counting and staging material for transport.
• Operating trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment to move products.
• Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular inspections.
• Perform and report cycle counts.
• Comply with all company safety rules and guidelines.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent  is required
• Requires basic math skills and reading a tape measure.
• 1-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment.
• Prior Forklift experience is required 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers in a courteous and tactful manner.
• Ability to read, write and to follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance.
• Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
• Ability to be punctual and work scheduled hours.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Forklift certification preferred.
