PHARMACY SUPPORT SPECIALIST

LOCATION: DUBUQUE, IA

HOURS: 9:00am-5:30pm

WAGE: $17/hr

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Support Specialist provides administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient daily functioning of pharmacy services. This role assists with inventory management, patient record maintenance, order processing, and customer service while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

· Process point-of-sale transactions and pharmacy shipments accurately and efficiently

· File and maintain hard-copy prescriptions and other pharmacy records in compliance with regulatory standards

· Stock and manage inventory of prescription medications and pharmacy supplies

· Process wholesale drug orders and reconcile received products with packing slips and invoices

· Perform pharmacy drug inventory control, including routine cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts

· Update and maintain patient demographic information within the pharmacy electronic records system

· Process new patient enrollment forms, including requesting prescriptions from prescribers as needed

· Coordinate scheduling of patient medication deliveries

· Answer incoming phone calls, document requests, and appropriately route inquiries to a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist

· Support the operations of Clinical Services as needed

· Assist and collaborate with team members across Pharmacy Benefit Solutions

· Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times

· Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Previous pharmacy, healthcare, or administrative experience preferred

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic record systems
