Accounting Administrator
Shift:

Location: Pleasant Valley, IA
Compensation:$50,000–$70,000/year, depending on experience
Sedona Staffing is recruiting a Accounting Administrator for a local landscaping company. This position is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting leadership with reporting, budgeting, and job‑cost tracking. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently while managing multiple accounting functions in a fast‑paced small‑business environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger updates.
- Enter and process vendor invoices, customer invoices, payments, and deposits.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and financial statements monthly.
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks.
- Support payroll processing and employee time tracking.
- Track job costs, project expenses, materials, and labor allocations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow monitoring.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and year‑end financial reports for ownership.
- Coordinate with external accountants for tax preparation and annual filings.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for financial and operational documents.
- Prepare administrative reports, summaries, and documentation as needed.
- Support office operations, scheduling, and communication with vendors and customers.
- Assist leadership with special projects, process improvements, and operational tasks.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (landscaping, construction, or service‑based industry preferred).
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required).
- Solid understanding of AP/AR and general ledger functions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a small‑team environment.
- Experience with job costing or project‑based accounting is a plus.
