Location: Dubuque, IA (On-Site)
Job Type: Full-Time | 1st Shift (5a – 1:30p)
Wage: $25 + / hour (ability to earn more based on experience)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laser Nesting Operator to join our production team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and optimizing laser-cutting programs using nesting software to ensure maximum material utilization and efficient production workflows. This is a hands-on position working on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment working with new state-of-the-art equipment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain laser cutting machines (primarily CNC-based).
  • Create and optimize part nests using CAD/CAM or specialized nesting software.
  • Review blueprints, job orders, and work instructions to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor the cutting process and adjust parameters for quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect cut parts for quality assurance and tolerances.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to meet deadlines and minimize material waste.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
 
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with laser cutting machines and nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST, ProNest, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal or plate fabrication.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret geometric dimensions/tolerances.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CAD/CAM systems.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
 
Schedule & Compensation:
  • Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift (Monday–Friday)
  • Pay: Competitive and based on experience / Direct Hire
