CUSTOMER ACCOUNT SPECIALIST
Location: Byron Center, MI
 Job Type: Temporary with potential for permanent hire
 Pay Rate: $20.67/hr
 
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Customer Account Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts. This role is responsible for managing customer orders, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the order fulfillment process. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts, providing exceptional customer service and timely communication.
  • Manage customer orders from receipt through shipment, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Process customer purchase orders, order changes, and cancellations within the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor order status and proactively communicate delivery updates, schedule changes, and potential delays to customers.
  • Coordinate customer requests related to engineering changes, product launches, and ongoing production.
  • Resolve customer concerns by researching issues and coordinating corrective actions with internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate customer account information, pricing, and order records within the ERP system.
  • Assist with demand forecasting by reviewing customer releases and communicating changes to internal planning teams.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring customer demand and coordinating with production to ensure product availability.
  • Prepare customer reports, order summaries, and performance metrics as requested.
  • Participate in customer meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional customer service and account management duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service, account management, order management, or manufacturing customer support.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
