Benefits Customer Service Representative
 
Shift:   1 st   Shift, Full-time
Schedule:   7:30 am- 4:30 pm M-F 
Job Location:   Illinois
 
Compensation:
The pay rate for this position is: $ 18 / hr -$ 2 0 / hr , depending on experience.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide prompt assistance to members and providers regarding benefits, claims, and general inquiries .
  • Explain benefit plans and coverage details clearly to members and providers .
  •   Assist members in resolving claim-related issues with professionalism and accuracy .
  • Greet  and assist walk-in members, addressing their questions or concerns effectively .
  • Perform data entry for open enrollment, new enrollments, and updates to member information .
  • Coordinate and process monthly Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) activities .
  • Manage wellness and reimbursement programs on a bi-annual basis .
  • Process COBRA terminations in compliance with regulations .
  • Prepare materials and documentation for quarterly board meetings .
  • Handle daily deposits and ensure accurate recordkeeping .
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail .
  • Organize and alphabetize claims for efficient processing .
  • Process short-term disability claims in accordance with internal policies .
 
Requirements:
  • Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel, and Access.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and empathetic communication style
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Experience in medical billing and/or claims processing preferred
