INVENTORY SPECIALIST/MATERIAL HANDLING
WAGE: $20/HOUR
HOURS: 6:45AM-3PM M-F
SHIFT: 1ST SHIFT
LOCATION: DYERSVILLE/FARLEY
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and check incoming materials to make sure they match purchase orders and packing slips.
- Unload trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or overhead crane.
- Deliver materials and parts to production areas to keep work running on schedule.
- Move products between production steps, including casting, machining, finishing, and inspection.
- Package, label, palletize, and load finished products for shipping.
- Keep inventory records accurate and update the ERP/MRP system.
- Perform cycle counts and help with physical inventory.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe by following 5S standards.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage and report any problems.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment following OSHA guidelines.
- Remove and sort scrap materials for recycling.
- Help with other production tasks as needed, including machine setup and secondary operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 months of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or material handling.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, work orders, and other basic production documents.
- Basic math skills for counting and inventory.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable with good attendance and punctuality.
