Manufacturing Electrician
Position Summary:
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) specific to the food industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, conduit, panels, and control systems.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical components on production equipment (e.g., conveyors, mixers, ovens, packaging machines).

Work with PLCs, VFDs, HMI interfaces, and automated systems common in food manufacturing.

Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

Ensure compliance with all electrical codes, food safety regulations, and plant safety protocols.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system performance.

Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to minimize disruptions.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to energy efficiency, equipment upgrades, and plant safety.

Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed during production shifts.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or journeyman electrician license preferred.

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or food processing environment.

Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation.

Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and sanitary design principles a plus.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work in cold, wet, or humid environments typical of food plants.

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
