MATERIAL HANDLER
SHIFT: 1ST SHIFT
LOCATION: FARLEY/DYERSVILLE AREA
WAGE: $18-$20/HOUR
Position Summary:
The Die Cast Material Handler is responsible for transporting, loading, and unloading raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to support die casting operations. This role ensures material flow aligns with production schedules and safety protocols, contributing to an efficient and safe manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport raw materials (e.g., aluminum ingots, lubricants) to die casting machines using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Load and unload material from furnaces and hoppers as required.
- Monitor and replenish materials to ensure continuous machine operation.
- Remove and stage completed castings for further processing or quality inspection.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with 5S and safety standards.
- Assist machine operators and production staff with material needs and coordination.
- Perform basic inspections of materials for damage or contamination.
- Complete and maintain accurate production and material handling documentation.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Follow all company policies, safety rules, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or die casting environment (preferred).
- Forklift certification or willingness to be certified.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and moving machinery.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
- May involve shift work, including nights and weekends.
