Sedona Staffing is seeking an experienced
Part-Time
Account Receivable Clerk
to support accounting and financial operations for a local employer. This position is responsible for accounts receivable, billing, collections, payment processing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate accounting records. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while providing professional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare invoices for tickets, contracted passenger fares, insurance, and other billable transactions.
- Accurately record customer payments and miscellaneous receipts.
- Monitor aged receivables and assist with collections on past-due accounts.
- Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements.
- Record and reconcile gift shop receipts, assist with sales analysis and inventory tracking, and resolve discrepancies.
- Record and reconcile inter-city bus ticket sales and coordinate reconciliations with outside agencies.
- Prepare accurate month-end reports, payment requests, bank deposit reconciliations, and other financial reports.
- Prepare and file sales and fuel tax returns and submit applicable payments.
- Prepare passenger fare reports and record revenues through appropriate journal entries.
- Maintain databases related to energy usage and production and analyze information as requested.
- Assist with management of ticket fare applications, including reconciliations, refunds, reporting, and resolving system issues.
- Review and verify accounting and transaction data for accuracy and identify and reconcile errors.
- Provide customer service and respond professionally to inquiries from customers, coworkers, contractors, and the general public .
- Research records and files to resolve customer questions within established procedures and guidelines.
- Prepare correspondence and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Assist with accounting database management, reporting, and analytics.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Accounting or a closely related field and two years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing financial information.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
- Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to identify, research, and reconcile accounting discrepancies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, contractors, customers, and the public.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information appropriately.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with accounts receivable and collections.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Experience with reconciliations, month-end reporting, and journal entries.
- Previous experience in a transportation, municipal, or public-service environment.
