We, Sedona Staffing Moline as the employer, are recruiting for
a
Procedure Scheduler
position
at
a
local medical facility.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and rescheduling of all routine and non-routine patient appointments .
- Coordinate scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers and services .
- Daily confirmation of all on-site clinic and off-site appointments .
- Receive, screen and coordinate telephone calls from healthcare providers .
- Assist with maintaining and updating all provider addresses and phone numbers .
- Receive incoming correspondence and review/forward to appropriate staff .
- Daily data entry of medical appointments, special instructions, patient information, and pre/post procedure instructions .
- Perform a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to answering phones, faxing, and filing of confidential documents and basic internet and email utilization .
- Verify patient information by interviewing the patient, documenting medications and the purpose of the visit into the practice EMR .
- Educates patients regarding conditions, procedures, preps and medications per provider orders .
- Counsel patients by transmitting provider orders and answering questions relating to ordered procedures .
- Obtains and enters all pertinent paperwork to register patients in a timely manner .
- Maintains updated schedules in the EMR system .
- Schedule all procedures ordered in an accurate and efficient manner .
- Explains prior preparatory requirements in person and provides patient with a packet containing pertinent information specific to that procedure .
- Answering and/or appropriately routing all calls, voicemails, and addresses telephone encounters daily .
- Maintain excellent customer service skills and a high level of professionalism on all calls .
- Ability to minimize customer call wait times in an efficient manner according to practice guidelines .
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance .
Requirements:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required .
- Associate degree and/or certificate program preferred .
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience .
- Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred .
- Strong at tention to detail .
- Ability to work independently and with a team .
- Basic Knowledge of Medical Terminology (ICD-10/CPT) .
- Basic Knowledge of Electronic medical records .
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel .
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution skills .
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment .
