Procedure Scheduler
Shift: 1st Shift, 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
Location: Moline, IL
Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 depending on experience
We, Sedona Staffing Moline as the employer, are recruiting for a Procedure Scheduler position at a local medical facility.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and rescheduling of all routine and non-routine patient appointments.
- Coordinate scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers and services.
- Daily confirmation of all on-site clinic and off-site appointments.
- Receive, screen and coordinate telephone calls from healthcare providers.
- Assist with maintaining and updating all provider addresses and phone numbers.
- Receive incoming correspondence and review/forward to appropriate staff.
- Daily data entry of medical appointments, special instructions, patient information, and pre/post procedure instructions.
- Perform a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to answering phones, faxing, and filing of confidential documents and basic internet and email utilization.
- Verify patient information by interviewing the patient, documenting medications and the purpose of the visit into the practice EMR.
- Educates patients regarding conditions, procedures, preps and medications per provider orders.
- Counsel patients by transmitting provider orders and answering questions relating to ordered procedures.
- Obtains and enters all pertinent paperwork to register patients in a timely manner.
- Maintains updated schedules in the EMR system.
- Schedule all procedures ordered in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Explains prior preparatory requirements in person and provides patient with a packet containing pertinent information specific to that procedure.
- Answering and/or appropriately routing all calls, voicemails, and addresses telephone encounters daily.
- Maintain excellent customer service skills and a high level of professionalism on all calls.
- Ability to minimize customer call wait times in an efficient manner according to practice guidelines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree and/or certificate program preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Basic Knowledge of Medical Terminology (ICD-10/CPT).
- Basic Knowledge of Electronic medical records.
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment.
