for a
Track and Trace Specialist for
a local
national distributor
.
The Track and Trace Coordinator monitors freight to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery, while providing real-time updates to internal teams and partners. This role supports carrier sales by maintaining shipment visibility, resolving issues quickly, and ensuring smooth communication. Strong attention to detail, urgency, and interpersonal skills are key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor active loads using carrier portals, check calls, and transportation management system (TMS) tracking tools.
- Conduct timely and consistent follow-ups with drivers, dispatchers, and carriers to verify shipment status.
- Accurately document all communications, location updates, service delays, and exceptions in the TMS.
- Ensure collection of legible, complete, and timely carrier documentation.
- Escalate service failures, late deliveries, and missed appointments to the appropriate internal teams.
- Communicate proactively with account managers and customer service teams about shipment status and potential disruptions.
- Coordinate solutions to in-transit issues such as breakdowns, weather events, or rerouting needs.
- Support after-hours or weekend tracking coverage as part of a rotating schedule, when applicable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent .
- 1+ years of experience in a logistics, transportation environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Dependable, accountable, and solution focused.
- Collaborative team player with a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Consistent, reliable attendance is essential.
