Sedona Staffing is recruiting
a
General Bookkeeper/Office Manager
for a local
member-owned
private club
. This position is responsible for overseeing day
‑
to
‑
day
office and
accounting operations
.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail
‑
oriented, and capable of working independently while managing multiple accounting functions in a fast
‑
paced small
‑
business environment.
Responsibilities
:
- Maintain journals, check registers, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventories, general journal entries, payroll records, personnel files, excise tax reports, depreciation schedules, and financial statements.
- Produce computer ‑ generated reports including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and monthly financial statements.
- Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain human resources compliance and related documentation.
- Prepare and make bank deposits; reconcile all bank statements.
- Manage the petty cash fund.
- Maintain an orderly accounting and filing system.
- Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
- Audit and process all club bills and invoices after approval.
- Maintain employee time, attendance, absentee, and leave records; prepare and audit payroll.
- Administer billing and collection of membership dues.
- Prepare inventory worksheets and verify pricing against bids and invoices.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports, including excise tax filings.
- Provide membership and financial management information to the General Manager, Board of Directors, and committee chairpersons.
- Assist with computer applications, annual and special audits, insurance matters, and employment records.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding billing.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor invoices.
- Assist in preparing additional accounting reports as needed.
- Generate point ‑ of ‑ sale (POS) reports from revenue centers.
- Attend departmental and club training meetings.
- Complete other related assignments as required.
Qualifications & Skills
:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of experience in office management, accounting, or bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, and human resources.
- Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standard HR practices.
- Ability to perform required duties during emergency situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent time ‑ management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and problem ‑ solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
