Sedona Staffing is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
for a local medical practice in Moline, IL. The LPN will perform a wide range of patient care activities and supportive services for pediatric patients. This individual will provide clinical assistance to physicians in accordance with established standards, practices, and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform general nursing care, including parent and patient education, obtaining history and vital signs, and administering prescribed medications, vaccines, and treatments in accordance with accepted nursing standards.
- Assist with preparation of equipment and support physicians during examinations, treatments, and testing.
- Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.
- Follow appointment bookings and prioritize patients in emergency situations while maintaining timely patient flow.
- Greet patients, prepare them for examination, and accurately gather and record patient history.
- Instruct patients on the collection of samples and tests.
- Accurately record physician orders, vitals, tests, and examination results in patient charts.
- Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies, and gather necessary equipment for procedures.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Provide training to other clinical staff (LPNs and Medical Assistants) and administrative staff as needed.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management.
- Prioritize tasks and perform related duties as needed to support business operations.
- Perform lab quality controls within COLA standards.
- Conduct laboratory testing, accurately enter results, and troubleshoot lab procedures.
- Perform triage nursing duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Current, unrestricted State LPN license and CPR certification.
- Ability to maintain required Illinois CEUs for LPN licensure.
- Nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of practical nursing principles and patient care procedures.
- Understanding of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of medications and their effects.
- Skill in administering treatments and medications as directed.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills with patients, families, coworkers, and the public.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards and remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
- Valid driver’s license.
