Position Overview
Crouch Staffing Solutions, Inc. is
seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to support production operations, oversee maintenance activities, and ensure equipment reliability. This position combines hands-on work with leadership responsibilities, including training technicians, planning preventive maintenance, supporting production uptime, and ensuring facility safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Production Manager to maintain efficient and high-quality production operations.
- Schedule and execute preventive maintenance to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
- Train, mentor, and audit PM Technicians; ensure all PM tasks are completed correctly.
- Oversee facility maintenance to ensure optimal function, safety, and professional appearance.
- Assign daily maintenance tasks based on technician competency and project needs.
- Evaluate technician performance and provide guidance regarding training, tools, and resources.
- Build a high-performing maintenance team with strong troubleshooting capabilities and minimal skills gaps.
- Support scheduling and hiring efforts to ensure proper coverage, including second shift needs.
- Respond to off-hours maintenance calls as needed to prevent production disruption.
- Collaborate with the Safety Officer to maintain OSHA compliance and complete monthly audits.
- Oversee inspections for hoists, forklifts, and other safety-regulated equipment; maintain required records.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements for equipment reliability, safety, efficiency, and quality.
Skilled Trade Duties
- Refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC repair; pipe work, welding, metal fabrication.
- Diagnostics and repair of heaters, furnaces, and electronic ignition systems.
- Operation of saws, drill presses, and hand/power tools.
- Electrical troubleshooting, wiring/fixture repair, motors, lighting circuits, and fan systems.
- Building repairs including windows, doors, roofing, furniture assembly, and structural work.
- PLC, VFD, and servo troubleshooting.
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance, replacement of circuits, switches, and components.
- Recordkeeping for labor, materials, and work orders; enter updates in Limbel system.
- Tool and material purchasing, operating company vehicles for pickups/deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned; maintain regular attendance.
Knowledge & Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Scheduling, work assignment, and maintenance planning.
- Safety procedures, codes, and regulations.
- Storage, recordkeeping, and maintenance best practices.
- Tools, equipment, and methods used in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and general maintenance.
Ability to:
- Perform journey-level maintenance tasks across multiple trades.
- Assign, guide, and review work of maintenance personnel.
- Interpret codes, regulations, blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
- Operate tools, equipment, forklifts, and vehicles safely.
- Accurately use tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Estimate labor and material costs.
- Maintain records and meet timelines with minimal supervision.
- Lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Work in environments with heat, cold, dust, fumes, and moving machinery.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum four years of experience in one or more skilled trades.
Licenses & Requirements
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
