recruiting for a License & Title Clerk position for local dealership in Moline, IL.
The
License & Title Clerk
will a
dminister paperwork for titling and registering motor vehicles sold by the dealership to retail and wholesale customers
.
Responsibilities:
- Follows procedures for titling and registering vehicles in accordance with state or federal statutes, rules, and regulations. Verifies accuracy of completed paperwork to ensure vehicle and customer information is correct. Submits all paperwork to appropriate state or county offices and monitors process to completion.
- Coordinates plates, registrations, and forms for self, Sales Department, and Finance Department for licensing and titling via state agencies. Tracks inventory of these supplies, reorders from appropriate vendors as needed.
- Ensures that all fees have been collected from customers prior to completing licensing and titling of vehicles.
- Corrects problems or rejected title or registration paperwork from counties or states as quickly as possible.
- Handles all internal and external inquiries regarding titling or registration statuses.
- Personally visits local county offices to submit or collect processed title & registration materials, as needed.
- Maintains productive working relationships with state/county DMVs, financial institutions, other dealerships, customers, & manufacturers to ensure we receive correct titles or Manufacturer’s Certificates of Origin. Maintains a log of all missing titling or registration documents and communicates this information weekly to supervisor.
- Accurately posts, monitors, and balances internal accounts to record title and registration fees for all deals.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED required. Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ADP/CDK Accounting software preferred
- Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Word Processing software.
- Current Valid Driver's License
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills .
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities .
- Effective teamwork, cooperation, and conflict-resolution skills .
